Crepe
Backed Silk Satin-Charmeuse
This
silk is 45" wide and has a silk
weight of 19.5 mm. It is called the "Rolls-Royce of
silks". Why? Because
of it's elegance and classic look. This textile can be used on
either side. It has
muted crepe on one side and a shimmery satin on the other.
The drape is truly spectacular. |

Silk Dupion
45" wide, with a silk weight of
19mm. It is a beautifully elegant fabric
with lots of
texture, raised silk slubs, a subtle shimmer, and a lovely drape. |

Raw Silk
45" wide, weight: 23mm.
Sometimes this
fabric is called "Silk Noil". It has a natural off-white
color, a nubby texture
and the traditional brown specks. It feels wonderful and is a
delight to work with; a very nice weight.

Habotai Silk
45" wide, or 55" wide and has a
weight of 8mm. This fabric
is also called "China Silk". It is the perfect lining
material; lightweight
and sheer. Easy to
work with in any project. Wonderful as linings, pillows, scares,
or anything that needs to "float."

Silk Chiffon
42" wide, 8mm weight. Yummy! Quite
transparent, and very
soft. Much like whipped egg whites! Makes a beautiful drape,
floats like a dream. |

Silk Organza
45" wide, and has a weight of 5mm. This
material is very
sheer, transparent, stiff, and gauze-like. Ethereal and earthy at
the same time.

Silk Gauze
36" or 45" wide. Weight-3mm. So sheer
and so beautiful; light
as a feather and very soft. Perfect for dance wear, as
an over lay
or whatever
requires a touch of mystery and elegance.

Silk Velvet

wide. The thick pile of this velvet is actually Rayon
with a strong backing of 100% silk. This elegant
fabric soaks up the dyes like a sponge for brilliant
color results. Perfect to use with Shibori dyeing
techniques. This is a rich, flowing fabric that is
an absolute thrill to dye!
